Summary
How long is too long to spend in space?
When astronaut Webber Jones returns to Earth after a 20-year solo mission, he brings back more than just data—he brings a peculiar problem. After two decades with only an AI robot dog for company, Webber can no longer distinguish between dogs and people.
Enter Benjamin Rogers, an eager (and slightly overworked) psychiatrist assigned to the case. He’s expecting a challenge—but not one this handsome, mature, and unintentionally charming.
There’s just one hitch: it’s hard to conduct therapy when your patient keeps patting your head and calling you a “good boy.” As professional boundaries blur and unexpected feelings emerge, Benjamin starts to wonder if he’s in over his head… or if he’s simply the one man Webber was always waiting to come home to.
